I am really enjoying the Kresley Cole 'Immortals after Dark' series. The books centre mainly around the Valkyrie, but also include Vampires, werewolves, ghosts, demons, witches..something for everyone. The sex is sizzling, the action is fast and furious and the romances are touching. Each book introduces new characters, which leaves you wanting to read on and see if they get their HEA as well. You can't help but to want to dive into their world and become a part of it.

If you want to hook someone onto the paranormal genre and have them salivating for more just hand them the JR Ward Black Dagger Brotherhood books. I mean what more could you want from a series? A band of sensationally buff blokes in designer leathers who, despite their toughness (and shit kicker boots), are sufficiently in touch with their emotions to carefully watch each others backs and (albeit usually reluctantly) fall desperately in love with inappropriate women whom they must save from a really imaginative collection of evil beasts and threats(including their own dark psyches) while having knee trembling, bone melting sex. What more could you ask for? Except maybe some horses.

I am loving Karen Marie Moning’s Fever series. Not normally a fan of first POV but this series has given me a true appreciation of it. The first impression Mac gives us of herself is that she is rather superficial but we get an inkling of her determination and inner strength soon enough and understand that her character is going to undergo tremendous personal growth by the end. The world building is great but not too overwhelming and the two possible heroes (or should I say anti-heroes) are compelling and keep us guessing if they are the good or bad guys or both. These books make me feel I am with Mac on her journey and it is very easy to get lost in the story. I have just finished book 3 (there are 5 in total – 2 yet to be released) and there are still a lot of questions to be answered so beware that this series is not a quick fix and for those who like their HEA at the end of a book will need to be patient. I think the quality of the storyline is excellent and highly recommend these books. For those who don’t like waiting it might be worth reading this series once all the books have been released. I must admit I can’t wait for the next book as we left the last one on a cliffhanger!
