I'd have to go for Rove and Tasma. I love the fact that she proposed to him and that they have managed to keep their relationship out of the public eye.

There is this old couple who shop where I work, they have been married for forty years, they still hold hands, tease each other unmercifully and they are always trying to get the other one to take it easier, bickering the whole way, but the job gets done evenly in the end.
They are my all time favourite Aussie couple.

I have a copy already, so I just want to participate in the discussion :)
Who can go past Maggie & Ralph in The Thornbirds?? (Book, of course, not the movie, in which Maggie was whiny and Ralph was blonde - blonde!)
Their story made my little 15-year-old heart go all fluttery. *Sigh* I'm still looking for an ashes of roses dress.
