Just had to come back and add that I read and loved Soulless. I'm not usually a big fan of paranormal romance, but this one worked for me. The steampunk elements were likely a big part of that, but I was also very drawn to the romance because the characters were good for each other. That's been the case in the few PN romances I have really enjoyed in the past.

Publishers have been asking for steampunk, and steampunk romance, for a while now. Have you read Dru Pagliassotti's Clockwork Heart? That's a great steampunk romance, complete with a difference engine. Meljean Brook is working on a steampunk series called The Iron Seas -- a novella is coming next year, and she plans books to follow. She recently posted an interesting definition of steampunk, and there are some more good recommendations in the comments there:

Wandergurl, did you see the tweets on the definition of steampunk? (I think it was between Maili and others, and now the YA bloggers are discussing it.) People are predicting it's going to be a new trend.

Okay, I thought it was possible there was nothing new in Romance any more. A steampunk paranormal? Clearly, I was wrong. That sounds absolutely awesome!
