BT012. We need words to be stimulated

Guests: Rudi Bremer & Gabby | Host: Kat Mayo | Audio producer: Rudi Bremer | Recorded: Sydney 4/6/2016

When Rudi, Gabby and I planned another group podcast, we had intended to attend as many events at the Sydney Writers’ Festival as we could. For various reasons, only Rudi managed to make it to SWF this year, and there was only one romance panel that came up when she searched the SWF for romance.

Despite this, we didn’t run out of things to talk about, and we dissect some of the issues that Rudi had with the panel, which was called Who’s Been Sleeping in My Bed?: Love, Sex and Literature. I think we ended up having a robust discussion about the very limited lens through which romance literature is viewed by those who don’t read the genre. We also have a bit of a laugh at the (in our opinion) cliched notion that women don’t watch porn.

A huge shout out to Justine LarbalestierJen Greybeal, and @BookishLia and her husband (complete with audio!) for their feedback on the podcast. Your support means SO MUCH to us! Thank you.
