BT022. What the best of romance can be

BT022. What the best of romance can be

Guest: Stacey Agdern | Host: Kat Mayo | Audio producer: Rudi Bremer | Recorded: 20/4/2016 New York

I visited New York for the first time this year, and my trip would have been a lot less enjoyable if today’s guest hadn’t tweeted me and offered to show me around her city. Stacey Agdern is a romance author and reviewer, and used to work as a bookseller, so her knowledge of the book industry is pretty extensive.

If you’re a reader who discovered romance through Fifty Shades or Twilight, you’ll love this episode, because Stacey gives books recommendations based on what aspects of these stories you loved. (I also have a short list here.) We also talk about the sustainability of bricks and mortar shops, and tips on how indie books make their way into bookshops. The distribution of print books is such a fascinating process.

A big shout out to Monstera Deliciosa for her feedback on the show, and to Diem, who left us a great review on iTunes. Thank you so much!
