Be warned: Today’s episode is a bit of a Melina Marchetta lovefest. Occasionally, Danielle links and I segue into feminism, other great books, our favourite authors, and politics … but eventually all roads lead back to Marchetta. It’s hard to explain how this happens to non-fangirls, but we can’t seem to help ourselves! There are a few other things to note about this episode. If, like me, you’ve been wondering when we’ll get young/new adult books that tackle abortion, Danielle has a title for you. We spend some time talking about the way politics is (or isn’t) reflected in our book. And we mention a bucketload of Australian authors writing amazing books.
