Kate and Kat talk about their favourite Australian romance authors. Part 6 of a series of vodcasts for Aussie Author Month 2012.
In this series, Kate and I talk about some of our favourite Australian romance authors, with some digression into my to-be-read pile. Here we talk about contemporary romance authors, although I fudge a bit and cross over to romantic elements. But they all end happily, I promise!

As usual, our thanks to Ben Reynolds, who recorded these vodcasts for us.
Reading list
This is a complete list of the authors and books we mention in the video, and I’ve indicated which ones are recommended reads.
- Boomerang Bride (recommended by Kate)
- Love Is A Four-Legged Word (recommended by Kate)
- Home Is Where The Bark Is (recommended by Kate and Kat)
- Love Struck
- The Wish List (recommended by Kat)
- Addition (recommended by Kat)
Which Aussie authors of contemporary romance would you recommend, and which of their books should we start with? We’d love to know!
Busted in Bollywood is the only one of these books that I have read. Looks like I have some awesome reading in front of me.
Addition has been on my must read list forever! Thanks for sharing your chat
I’ve read both of those Melanie La’Brooy books and really enjoyed them both. She’s a witty Aussie writer and I’d like to read more of her books. I think I still have to read Babymoon.
Boomerang Bride has been on my TBR list for awhile, it sounds like an entertaining read.
Kate, your dog is adorable! Is it a cocker spaniel? I have a similiarly coloured one myself and they are just beautiful companions :-)
Hi Jayne!
Yes, she is a cocker spaniel – a blue roan. She’s gorgeous (but, between you and me and the internet, she’s just the tiniest bit slow. Definitely a dog that will have to get by on her looks ;) )
Kate
LOL that’s what my folks say about my dog Buddy, but you know what I think he’s a lot smarter than he seems because he has me and my other half wrapped around his little paw ;-) He’s a blue roan too. Regardless of their intelligence, they are beautiful companionable dogs and I’m sure she will bring you much joy!
Marg — It’s probably because I fudged the definition of contemporary romance a bit. :D
shelleyrae — I love that book. You have to promote it to the top of your TBR!
Jayne & Kate — Maybe we should’ve had her there throughout the vodcast. Sadly, we are a pet-free family although I believe plans are afoot to change that when we have a backyard.
